What Are Sores In The Nose?

Sores in the nose can be the result of many causes beginning with rough blowing to the entry of foreign bodies into the nostrils. Sores can also take the form of a bump inside nose at times. They can also be caused due to irritation or trauma from picking the nose roughly, acne, chronic allergies, skin conditions such as pimples or abscesses. A few sores are painful while a few are not. 8. Prolonged Usage Of Nasal Sprays

Nasal sprays when used for a longer time leads to dryness of nasal passages which further develop into nose sores. If you feel that these sprays are causing dryness, check with your doctor for an alternative.

9. Nasal Cancer

If you sense hard nose sores that are crusty lumps, painful and persistent then more than often these are the signs of nasal cancer. A bump inside nose that doesn’t go away asks for immediate medical intervention.

  • Allergy medications that can be taken daily.
  • Oral antibiotics for infections such as sinus.

Besides these, one may also depend on remedies such as applying petroleum jelly, not picking sores, and staying away from habits that irritate the nose.

  • Having allergy medicines.
  • Blowing the nose very gently and that too when really needed.
  • Avoid inhaling medications inclusive of illegal drugs.
  • Making use of a humidifier.
  • Using drug-free saline spray to moist the nose.
  • Not putting objects and fingers in the nose.
  • Staying away from smoking and avoiding passive smoking.
  • Sporting a face mask.
  • Avoiding strong smells.

You need to see your doctor for sores in nose if you feel the sore isn’t going away and is persistent. One should also meet an ENT if he/she feels the nose sore is painful and often accompanied by bleeding.
